- Waterskiers/tubers,etc. must have a spotter on Board.*

- Do not motor near other boaters. Stay clear of stationary craft and nonmotorized craft.

- Drive your boat counter-clockwise around Third Lake.

- Do not use paddleboats or personal watercraft too close to shore or in shallow water. They cause damage to the lake bottom and fish beds.

- Do not moor boats along side the shoreline*

- Do not lend your boat keys to others and lock boat launchgates after each use.*

- Practice catch and release from April 1 to June 15 for large and small mouth Bass, walleye and northern pike*. The Village promotes the practice of catch and release for all fisherman at all other times.

- Please clean your boat of zebra mussels after visiting another lake.

- Observe boat launching hours: 7:00am - 9:00pm*

- Trailer parking is prohibited on all Village streets.*

- Observe the no wake area extending 150 feet into Third Lake.*

- Observe lake-wide "No Wake Zone" diring periods of high water. This will be indicated be a red flag at the Village bost launch.*

- Dragboats, airboats, hovercraft and watercraft with motors exceeding 75 decibels are prohibited on the lakes.*

- Do not create artifically enhanced wakes when the lake is crowded.

Age of Operator**

- No persons under 10 years of age may operate a motorboat.

- Persons at least 10 years of age and less than 12 years of age may operate a motorboat only if:

  • They are accompanied on the motorboat and under the direct control of a parent or guardian, or person at least 18 years of age designated by a parent or guardian.

- Persons at least 12 years of age and less thn 18 years of age may operate a motorboat only if:

  • They are accompanied on the motorboat and under the direct control of a parent or guardian OR
  • A person of 18 years of age designated by a parent or guardian OR
  • Such motorboat operator is in possesion pf a boating saftey certificate issued by the Deparment of Natural Resourves, Division of Edication or a valid certificate issued by another state, a provinve of the Dominion of Canada, the United States Coast Guard Auxillary or the United States Power Squadron.

Violations done with the knowledge of a parent or guardian shall be deemed a violation by the parent or guardian and punishable under CHP. 625, ART. 11A of the Illinois Boat Registration and Safety Act.
